This land will go up for auction by the State of AZ soon and we're hoping no one bids against the City of Scottsdale. It would be wonderful to have this addition to our Preserve!

Fall is the time of year in Arizona when we can finally open our windows and our doors again… we can go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and flowers. When I am short for time but want to shoot some pictures, I just go in my backyard and have fun. Kanojo no tamash wa,-ai no kotodesu.
This was a special and emotional day. I was leaving for work this morning when a tiny little doggy (which I thought was a Jack Russell) was sniffing around the front yard. I called my mother and asked her to go check it out for me. She told me it was a baby puppy who was in pretty bad shape.
I called my boyfriend and asked if he could take it into the house, and we could see what to do with her. I was very concerned and took a half day off of work to run to get puppy supplies. After that, I made it home and was finally able to formally meet this little beauty.
She was covered in ant and flea bites (and the fleas), malnourished, and had minor cuts on her neck and ears. He little tush is stained from probably sitting in waste (a good bath really helped that) and many other traits of neglect.
Upon closer inspection, though, I can tell she is definitely a red nose pitbull, but not sure if she is a pure breed or not (not that it matters to me).
Friday, after a 3 day stray hold, we will take her to the vet and decide upon a name.
For now, she has a happy, warm home and we have a smiling new face to cheer about.

I sometimes wonder what my neighbours think of me when they see me lying full length on the ground in my front yard with a camera in front of my face. Or if the people driving through the neighbourhood just say to themselves, "Oh … it's that weirdo and his camera again." Good thing I have no shame. And that my driveway is pretty clean.
